Lastly, on the General tab, make sure that the Startup type is set to Disabled and click OK to save the changes. Now, restart your computer and run the Task Manager to see if the process is still running in the background. Most of the time, your PC’s ctfmon.exe file will be saved inside C:\Windows\System32 folder, or System 64 folder.
